This Is Your Lives is an upcoming documentary film, about how people deal with substance abuse and mental illness, from director and producer David Ehrlich and writer/director Jodi Kantor.
The film is described by Ehrlein as “a moving portrait of how we all cope with addiction, depression, anxiety and addiction.”
Ehrli has previously directed and produced documentaries about drug and alcohol abuse, including the acclaimed documentary My Name Is Pablo, which explored the lives of Mexican street-dancers, and the documentary Drug Dealer, which documented the lives and trials of the heroin industry.
Ehrleich, who also co-wrote the film with Kantor, told EW he was “excited” about the film.
“I think it’s a very honest look at how addiction and mental health can go hand in hand,” he said.
So, I wanted to do a film that was about the people, and how they dealt with that. “
You’ve got all these people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol and they have a lot going on, but they can’t say anything, so they’re not able to talk about it.
It’s the person in the room, but it’s the audience that has the responsibility of saying, ‘OK, I have to talk to you.'””
That’s where the film comes in.
